Monday: 5 Miles. Watch Hill mostly quiet roads. Explored some roads I had never been on before. Planned six, but for some reason felt super weak and wimped out.
Tuesday: 5 Miles. Half-mile track warm-up and a 4.5 mile run to Saint Michael's cemetery. Took two segments in there that I created a while ago and threw a few fast miles into the run.
Wednesday: 5 Miles. Seven Narragansett hill repeats. Ate too much before the run and didn't feel great plus it was super hot again. Forgot to GPS the fifth hill, so strava post is actually 0.3 to 0.4 more than it says. Difficulty of Workout: 2/5
Thursday: 7 Miles. Glad to get off the five mile pattern that was forming. By far the worst run of September, because we had to run on the treadmills. And the school treadmills, where the treadmills are cheap, the room is hot and ugly, and there's no TVs or fans (there are two-three fans and TVs, but most don't work and aren't of great quality). If it was a Y treadmill, it would be significantly better because the room is much nicer, there are three big TVs (I usually watch who wants to be a millionaire), the treadmill is nicer, and there's a built in fan. Neither are awesome but I'd take a Y treadmill over a school one any day. I was looking forward to running in the rain, but instead got an extremely boring run. Afterwards I ran some laps in the rain and it felt pretty good.
Friday: 4.5 Miles. Yeah, so a huge step down from last week's mileage. But this was definetley a case of quality over quantity. Timed 3200m run. Everyone groaned about it, but it was much easier than I expected. I was given a target pace 10:20 (close to 5:10 mile pace), and ran 10:18. Lapped all but one person. A new PR since I've never run a 3200 or two mile before, just 3Ks.
Saturday: 5 Miles. Two sets of fingers, and for some reason they felt much harder than any hill workout I had done this season. There was less of a gap between me and the next person, and I felt really tired, especially on Ward Ave. Difficulty of Workout: 3/5
Sunday: 9 Miles. Went down to watch Surftown at 6:15am. Ran Dad and B's warm-up and watched the runners go by in Weekapaug before heading home on hilly roads.
No meets this week, so nothing was really too tough. Dual meet @ NK Monday should provide some competition, though I can't really project a time for myself because I don't know the terrain or distance. Probably 6-7 Miles Tuesday and Wednesday before Stavros Thursday. Felt good about my Friday run. Since I crushed any time goals with my 16:26 at Injury Fund, my goals this season will be consistency (Close to the same pace each race) and place. My only specific goal is to make it to New Englands.
Weekly Total: 40.5 (Really surprised I got this many in, and even though it wasn't quite as great as last week, it's going well)
NK's course is in Ryan Park. They only use wide trails and railbed. No fun trails. No hills. Should be fast. You will do well!
