A Slow Return- Weekly Log: December 11 to 17

Finally finishing out the last of my recovery miles before making the transition to practice, where I will start doing actual (although still reduced) training again.

Week of December 4-10: 9 Miles
YTD Total: 2,070 Miles

Monday: 5 Miles

Longest run since XC ended, but with a doctor's appointment had to do this at home. Decent route combining the roads near the tennis courts and looping around the cemetery. Very far from feeling formal, yet the the ankle felt surprisingly really good.

Tuesday: 6 Miles

First real practice but was late and just ended up running with a teammate. Had some discomfort which was annoying. Tried doing pickups at the end which hurt a bit.

Wednesday: 4 Miles

Ended up being brought back down in order to recover better, with shorter runs for the rest of the week. This one was okay with a smaller and slower group. No pain but everything got really heavy and annoying.

Thursday: 3 Miles

No pain again but extremely tight this time which just made for an unpleasant experience as a whole. Was glad to finish up.

Friday: 5 Miles

Half with a group, half without. Actually felt pretty good one. My form was still way off, but felt that tightness had significantly reduced and I had no pain at all.

Saturday: 5 Miles

Was surprised to have a mini-workout where I definitely felt out of shape. He had me run with our top guy currently and it gave a good push, even only running three Narragansetts. Felt somewhat heavy/tight but the real struggle was difficulty breathing. Difficulty: 4/5.

Sunday: 5 Miles

Waited all day and didn't have much motivation but got myself out there knowing I didn't have much of a run to do. Everything felt stiff and terrible throughout and my feet were bothering me quite a bit at the end.

Weekly Total: 33 Miles
YTD Total: 2,103

A very mixed week.

Weekly Highlight: Being able to actually do some mileage now, mostly without any pain.
Weekly Lowlight: Being slow, out of shape, and simply unable to run properly. My form is way off and things feel very tight frequently even after doing several easy runs in a row. Not sure how to fix this.
