Return to RI- Weekly Log: December 16 to 22

Week 2 of road trip, from Arkansas to Rhode Island.

Monday: 9 Miles- Fort Smith, AR

Bizarre conditions- after 30s/40s last few days (and next few days), this run was in the mid-60s and near 100% humidity. Expectations weren't too high for arkansas, but this was surprisingly a fantastic route with great bike paths and scenery.

Tuesday: 6 Miles- West Plains, MO

Country roads, mostly dirt past a lot of farms and redneck homes. Decent, quiet running though. Got confronted by a few dogs.

Wednesday: 10 Miles- St. Louis, MO

Perimeter Loop in Forest Park, which was really great for running. Great urban park.

Thursday: 10 Miles- Lexington, KY

Mediocre lollipop in Lexington with some good sections on quite bike paths and other busier areas. Lots of trash in some areas.

Friday: 10 Miles- Star City, WV

First run in all these states (AR, MO, KY, WV). Ran on a really nice crushed gravel bike path and did my first workout. Mile tempo + 5x2 mins on/2 off + 4x30s on/2 min off. Went well, but felt really hard for pretty much all of it. First workout and splits were great so can't complain.

Saturday: 14 Miles- Baltimore, MD

Longer loop. Ran south on the middle branch trail which was good running but sketchy areas and a lot of trash. Ran on Kolman street which is part of the East Coast Greenway and quiet, but went past the ghetto. The rest of the route was not great with a lot of sidewalks, cement, and road crossings but went through extremely nice neighborhoods. OAB on the inner harbor out to Paterson Park and back.

Sunday: 10 Miles- Charlestown, RI

VG+ in cold-ish conditions and even some snow on the trail. Okay run but my outer foot felt kind of sore.

Weekly Total: 69 Miles

Weekly Highlight: Good workout, and exploring varied locations again. St. Louis was probably the best in terms of route.

Weekly Lowlight: Having some achilles discomfort at the start of runs which developed this week and still is bothering me 2 weeks later.

Movies Watched: Carry-On
