Big Race Week- Weekly Log: November 9 to 15

Saturday officially closes out the Cross Country season for me with the New England Championship at Thetford Academy, VT. The day after that is the Little Rhody Runaround, a race that I really like and am looking forward to.

Monday: 0. Extremely sore from Sunday's meet, glad I was instructed to take the day off.

Tuesday: 6 Miles. Barn Island run in the rain. A little sore, but not too bad. Slow pace definitely helped.

Wednesday: 5 Miles, last practice of the season. Track Workout, 14x200. Around 35-37. About 40 seconds recovery between each. A little hard with wind, but never too bad. Difficulty: 2/5.

Thursday: 6 Miles, saw that it was low tide at the beach at 2:42 PM, so headed out to run at 3. It was not a fun run, with a lot it going into the wind. The beach miles were brutal, as the waves kept coming up, and I was going into the wind.

Friday: 4 Miles: just a run on the course before new Englands. Course thoughts: very hilly, w/the first kilometer being mostly downhill, next three (especially 4 with a brutally long and steep hill called Morty's Monster) were mostly uphill, before an extremely downhill before entering the finish chute. Since the race enters, the trail quickly it would be a fast start.

Saturday: 5.5 Miles, New England Championships. About 2.5 mi of warm-ups/cool-downs. 110th w/time of 17:44. Separate write-up will follow.

Sunday: 9.5 Miles, Little Rhody Runaround. 3rd overall w/big PR of 47:44. Separate write-up.

Weekly Total: 36 Miles

Next week I will not post a weekly since I'm taking the week off to rest after a tough XC season.
