The Road to New Englands- Weekly Log: November 2 to 8

This is it. The most important race of the season is on Sunday, the RI state meet. My main goal this entire season has been to make New Englands, and my place will determine that on Sunday. All I know is that top 25 individuals at states get in and not many after that (if any). It's going to be a rough week, especially because I'm the only male from my team going.

Monday: 6 miles, had a nice solo run through quiet Avondale. Went for a trail segment (Avondale Trail 1), but didn't end up getting on it, even though it looks like I was right on it. After running a few more miles easy, I went for a fast and short road segment (fox and sherperds run). I ran 4:26 pace for 0.1 (or 0.2, not sure) before returning with an easy pace on shore road.

Tuesday: 5.5 Miles, the most brutal hill workout of all season. Five park ave repeats. Felt good the first three, then 4 and 5 were tough, but the hardest by far were the set of fingers. Felt really weak on all them, especially ward and linden. Difficulty: 4/5

Wednesday: 7 Miles. Easy run through local roads, no segments or anything fast.

Thursday: 7 Miles, through riverbend cemetery, and moore woods. Both nice places to run, but it's hard to get more than a mile on running in either (without overlapping your route). Not easy, but not hard pace.

Friday: 4 Miles, easy track workout. 5x400 w/ (roughly) 45s recovery (74, 74, 72, 75, 74). Difficulty: 2/5.

Saturday: 4 Miles, easy. Wicklow Loop, tired to keep the pace around 7:30.

Sunday: 5.5 Miles, State Meet. 17th place, 16:29. Separate write-up coming Monday or Tuesday.

Weekly Total: 39 Miles
